Musically influenced her whole life, Tia spent most of her childhood participating in church and local choirs, school musicals, and public speaking events. This journey gave Tia the proper exposure as a child, and she knew that entertainment would be her dream field. Studying Journalism in college, and being an active member of the campus TV Production Team, Tia began to film and direct campus activities. When the University decided to go digital and began providing media coverage content on the web, Tia provided that online content by writing for the TV Department's website.
In the Fall of 2009, Tia relocated to Washington, DC, enrolling in The University of the District of Columbia. Always passionate about service, Tia joined Team 4.0, a student-driven organization that specialized in volunteer projects throughout the city as well as entertainment centered events on campus. As a student-leader, Tia helped organize campus fashion & talent shows, open mic events, and weekly volunteer assignments. It was volunteering with Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes-Norton at her annual "DC Tax Day" that got Tia offered a position with the IRS through their student-employment program. Shortly after that, Tia began working for CBS Radio as a writing/events intern. Under the direction of Justine Love, the internship program through CBS Radio allowed Tia to grow more into the media field by using 3 things: music, writing, and events. Organizing events such as "For Sister's Only" (over 5,000 attendees annually), filming, writing and editing content for the station's website, as well as blogging for various on-air shows prepared Tia for the next chapter in her growing career.
Always having a keen interest in the business behind the music and entertainment law, Tia began working for WYZ Girl Entertainment Consulting Firm in Washington, DC. Serving as production assistant for talk radio shows "The Action Report" and "Capitol Hill Blues" as well as being apart of several Congressionsal hearings on Capitol Hill (SOPA/PIPA act) was more than enough to keep Tia busy; and then, SuiteLife Radio was created!
Though her time in DC hasn't been long, Tia has had the opportunity to work along side some of the most influential people in the city, at the biggest events. That experience, plus a great team and vision, makes SuiteLife Radio a growing movement!
